VED – Low-carbon Drone Solutions Utilisation Models and Introduction Action Recommendations

VED

VED is an investment and development project coordinated by the Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Partners: University of Oulu, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland) and is a part of the Arctic Drone Labs ecosystem. The project will build a drone solution piloting and testing environment for companies and other organisations in Northern Ostrobothnia. The project strengthens the prerequisites for companies in Northern Ostrobothnia to develop low carbon solutions using competitive drone solutions and exploit the growing international business opportunities for drone solutions.

The piloting and testing environment enables prototyping and testing of drone solutions. Companies can also leverage the testing environment to create market references they need for international business.

VED project will build significant drone equipment and processing expertise for drone flying and data collected by drones. VED project will carry out a large number of pilot and demonstration flights in the Northern Ostrobothnia region, for example in applications related to the port environment, infrastructure construction and the urban environment.
